Ellyn to co-star in Zaki Gordon Institute film "Purgatory" and star in Zaki Gordon Institute film "Overture"
Ellyn recently auditioned for two independent student films with the highly acclaimed Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking in Sedona, Arizona. Ellyn will co-star with actor Jason Wiechert in the film "Purgatory" directed by Kiel Greenfield and will star in the film "Overture" directed by Jake Kramer. Production for "Purgatory" is set to commence Feb 26th and production of "Overture" will film the weeks of March 9th-22nd. Here's to a bright beginning in film!

An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Ridinghood? A Prince Charming with a roving eye? A Witch...who raps? They're all among the cockeyed characters in James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's fractured fairy tale. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk). Everyone's wish is granted at the end of Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins a lively irreverent fantasy in the style of “The Princess Bride” becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children..

Ellyn Wins Annual Herberger Young Artist's Competition: March, 2009
Ellyn won First Place in the Drama Category as well as the People's Choice award at the annual Herberger Theater Center Young Artist's Competition! The competition took place on March 28th, 2009.
Completed Project - Midsummer in Oxford Program: July, 2009
Ellyn will be attending the Midsummer in Oxford program at the British American Drama Academy this July-August! The course takes place at Balliol College in Oxford, England and runs for four weeks. An intensive, conservatory-style acting program, it is designed for serious acting students and concentrates on Classical Acting especially Shakespeare. Some participants in the program have included Jeremy Irons, Alan Rickman, Paul Giamatti, Melissa Errico, Simon Callow, and many more.
